Awarded  first  prize  for  Japanese  traditional  music as a performer at ”the  Pan-Music  Festival” in 1975

Performed in Tanglewood ,USA and Brasil as a member  of  the TOKK  Ensemble (shakuhachi ,koto,piano,violin and percussion) in 1978

Performed with “Ondeko-Za”(1981),as a leader of “Ichiro Seki Ensemble”(’84) and with Chris

Hinze(Dutch flutist),Ragunath Seth(Indian flutist),Yu Xun Fa(Chinese flutist) in 1993,’94

in the Netherlands.

Performed”The Way”(Toshi Ichiyanagi) as a member of TIME in Austria ,Germany in 1990.

Playing  "Oiwakebushi-Koh for Mixed chorus and shakuhachi (Minao Shibata)" almost  1000 times  since 1980 in Japan,China,U.S.A.,Sweden,Belgium,Estonia,Finland,Hungary,

Spain and Canada with “Tokyo Philharmonic Chorus “,”RitsuyuuKai choir” and others.

Conducted "Pentagonia"for shakuhachi orchestra( composed by my self ) in Bisei World Shakuhachi Festival(1994) and World  Shakuhachi Festival Boulder 1998 in U.S.A.

Conducted "Bamboo Metamorphosis for shakuhachi orchestra,Marimba and  Japanese Drum“(composed by myself) in World Shakuhachi Festival Tokyo(2002) and  World Shakuhachi

Festival  Sydney,Australia(2008)

Performed "Francis Xavier  The Route to the Orient" directed by Jordi Savall(viola da gamba player) with his early music ensemble “HesperionⅩⅩⅠ”and “La Capella Reial de Catalunyain   in

France (1996,2007,’09),Spain(2006,’10,’11) Switzerland(2008),Poland(2010).

Performed and had a lecture about Japanese music in  Cyprus  in 2010

Performed "Oiwakebushi-Koh" in Germany,Austria,Slovenia with Ritsuyuu-Kai choir and Tolosa,Spain with Yuuka choir in 2010,at the same time "Sakura/Cherry Blossams for mixed chorus and shakuhachi"(composed by myself) was world  premiered in Germany.

Also awarded  first  prize  for  a  composition  competition  for  Japanese instruments  held  by  the  Agency of  Cultural  Affairs   in  1995.   Awarded  first  prize  for  a  composition  competition  for  Japanese instrument  held  by  the  National  Theater in 1999.

Studied  Shakuhachi  with  Katsuya Yokoyama, and  composition  with Shuko  Mizuno,  Yoriaki Matsudaira,  Hiroshi  Aoshima and  Yuuji Takahashi

Lessons with Ichiro Seki are available by appointment.

Ichiro Seki teaches the repertoire of “Watatsumi do

Honkyoku”,”Kinko Ryu Honkyoku”,”Kokyoku”,”New Music”,”Comtemporary Music”.

Biginners are also welcomed.

Fee are as follows

♦Monthly fee : ¥ 10000 , possible to take three times

lessons(each 40 minutes)per month
